This new page is for all Easts supporters to have their say on the Tigers. It is not a forum (too difficult to manage at this stage) but more a "Letters to the Editor" page. Let us know what you are thinking and we will try to get your message on line. Send Messages here.

Last weeks "serve" on the Colts boys has had an effect.
The Jason Gainey trained colts team responded to some harsh criticism through the week with an exciting win over reigning premiers, Norths, last weekend at Bishop Park. Norths came out firing in the first half and with some great off-loads soon had a couple of tries on the board. Things looked a bit grim. Jason knocked off half a pack of durries during the first half as his lads dropped ball and couldn't complete sets. Easts hit back late in the second half with a try to Matt Klein. The match was played in oppressive heat and it took its toll on the big Norths outfit. In the second half it was different story with Easts completing sets and getting some well deserved penalties. Cusky and Georgiou were constructive in attack. Centre "Wiki" and Woodsie from fullback scored 2 tries each and lead the way in attack. The Tigers crossed for 4 tries to Norths 1 in the second stanza. Cusky added the extras on 4 occasions to leave the final score at 28-14.
Importantly, our big forwards who suffered most of the criticism, "Big John", "Deak", Josh and Tyrone all played strongly. In defence Cusky and Chris Woods worked hard and Lachlan Tanzer again belied his small stature to do a ton of work. But it was a team effort, and I stress a team effort, that was the feature of this win. If I was Jason I would find the author of last weeks article (it's probably still on this site) and buy him or her a carton of the best as the article seemed to galvanise the lads as one. Well-done guys. I can't wait for the next game. Up the Tigers!

Some fans have their say after the 2006 season opener
How good was yesterday. It is so good to be back into footy season, and 3 wins from the boys was a great way to start the season. Loved the day. I have to say I miss Darren Smith on the field for us, the guy is just an awesome player. The boys played really well without him, but I just missed Darren out there, as I'm sure he misses it to.
The Colts, I have a lot to say about them. It was a pretty average game, should have been a higher points win, over the very average Wests team. But the selction of players for our Colts has me bewildered. Why is Lachlan Tanzer running off the bench? He is one of the most outstanding players in the team. There is nothing that boy can't do, and he puts his body on the line, he is just brilliant. Dissappointed not ot see Tyrone play, hope he mends soon, as I think he will probably be the only true forward in our team to give the team any credibility. We have the best backs, but very average forwards in the team. Certainly not the forward pack, that was selected from Tiger trials. Not real impressed with Declan, and John Helu was a waste last year, why was he kept. I think our Colts will struggle against the teams with a bigger and better forward pack. However they can only improve. Georgio was solid and should be captain, he does the job week in week out, and age and experience should account for something.
What was the outcome of Scotty Thorntons injury, looked and sounds nasty. Hope he is back soon. Wishing him a very speedy recovery. Maybe you could put on the webpage some info on players out with injuries, to keep the fans updated, and when we can expect them back. Also Maybe a forum for the fans could be looked at also. Also as a grandstand spectator, the info you get about the players is usually heresay, so maybe a player profile for all players would be great for those true fans. Dont forget the 22's and 20s, we never get any info on them.
Anyway, I did have a great day yesterday, and look forward to the rest of the season.

Ed Note: Scott Thornton was to be released from hospital on Monday after have a dislocated hip restored. Unsure at this stage of the prognosis for a return to footy.
